...4give my PC naievete, but, how is this done? What is/are the quickest/easiest/least painful/most efficient way[s] of posting your mp3s here [such as some of you guys are doing in the topic "Your stuff?"]?

The FASTEST way to record is
with your PC mike. Of course,
the quality won't be that good
BUT you asked.
Just open up your recording
software - like CREATIVE and
use the appropriate program.
Then, you have to convert the
.wav file to .mp3

I have the Cakewalk Pro Audio 9 program...
I know how to record a rough demo to CWPA9 & also convert it to mp3...i just don't know how to "post" it here...Thx....
Fuse:
1) you need some webspace out there, some storage that you can upload files to from your PC using wsFTP (free and easy).
2) upload them
3) then when you post, you would click on URL then put the exact link to where the files are. the filename has to be exactly the same as the file, and you must include the extension. like http://www.drums.edu/~johnnycarson/ed_boozing.mp3
In this instance, johnnycarson is the "user" and ed_boozing.mp3 is "contained" in his area on that webserver.
good thinga bout the internet is that you can always troubleshoot easily.
You must have a website or webspace to post a link to for your tune. If you look at Peter's links, they all go to his site. You just put the link up including the http:// part, and everyone will be able to click on it to play it or right click and save it (for all the PC people). Good luck!

Fuse. I had my web guy help me out. I actually write out drum charts and play on his tracks since he's a great composer as well, for exchange of his web-services. ( It was lucky we found each other and could arrange this agreement)
Just find a computer web-designer to help you out if you have problems. I thinks this is a great way to share knowledge and the next step,
I wouldn't have had a clue a couple mos ago.
depending on who you use to access the internet (AOL,MSN,earthlink) (ISP) , you normally get about 5 or 10 megs of free webspace. All you have to do is call your provider, ask them the needed info and you can start to upload. Should not take more then 30 minute of phone work. Usually they also have a website where you can download all the needed software to make a site and to upload like WsFTP.
Other places on the net are Anglefire.com
they give free webspace and needed tools for building a cheap website.
